We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
At Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School Earlwood we promote ongoing learning where all members of the community are engaged. Of particular importance is the place of parents and carers, who are encouraged to continue an active role in their child’s learning. Open communication, mutual respect and co-operation between home and school are recognised as being essential to the success of our school. Our fortnightly newsletter provides information on the school’s curriculum, organisation, special events and student achievement.
While the newsletter is the main source of correspondence, parents are also provided up-to-date information via the Compass App, emails and phone calls. Parents are also encouraged to contact the school directly should they wish to meet with any of the school staff.
At the beginning of each new year, parents are invited to attend a Meet and Greet afternoon as well as fortnightly assemblies. Opportunities also exist for parents to take part in open classrooms throughout the year to see learning in action.
The school advisory council meet each term to discuss school-related matters as well as further school improvements.
